Delicious cornmeal pancakes topped with savory sausage syrup for a perfect morning treat.
Ingredients:
  • 1 package (8 oz) frozen brown-and-serve sausages
  • 1 cup maple-flavored syrup
  • 1 1/2 cups Original Bisquick™ mix
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese (4 oz)
  • 1/2 cup yellow cornmeal
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
Instructions:
  • Slice the sausage links into 1/2-inch pieces. Cook the sausage pieces in a 1 1/2-quart saucepan over medium heat until they turn golden brown, stirring frequently. Stir in the syrup and bring to a boil while stirring constantly. Keep warm as you prepare the pancakes.
  • Combine Bisquick mix, cheese, cornmeal, milk, and eggs in a medium bowl. Stir until fully blended using a wire whisk or fork.
  • Prepare the griddle or skillet by brushing with vegetable oil or spraying with cooking spray. Heat the griddle to 375°F or the skillet over medium heat.
  • Pour a generous amount of batter, just under 1/4 cup, onto the hot griddle for each pancake. Cook until the edges are dry, then flip and cook until both sides are golden brown. Serve with delicious syrup.
