Sunny Spanish-inspired BBQ sauce with a spicy kick.
Ingredients:
  • 1.5 cups ketchup
  • 7 ounces brown sugar
  • 0.5 red onion, finely chopped
  • 0.25 cup honey
  • 3.5 fluid ounces red wine vinegar
  • 2 ounces butter
  • 0.5 small red chile pepper, finely chopped, or to taste
  • 3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 0.5 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon paprika
  • 0.5 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
Instructions:
  • In a saucepan, add ketchup, brown sugar, red onion, honey, vinegar, butter, red chile pepper, garlic, cayenne pepper, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Bring to a boil, then simmer on low heat for 20 minutes until slightly thickened. Use a hand blender to make the sauce smooth.
