Serve up delectable savory minced meat topped with creamy mashed potatoes to gather your loved ones around the dinner table!
Ingredients:
  • 1kg Desiree potatoes
  • 40.00 gm butter
  • 193.13 gm hot milk
  • 1500.00 ml cooked Basic mince (see related recipe)
  • 20.00 gm cornflour
  • 255.00 gm beef stock
  • 40.00 ml lemon thyme leaves
  • 125.00 ml grated tasty cheese
Instructions:
  • Peel potatoes and place them in a saucepan. Cover with cold water and bring to a boil over medium heat. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for 20 to 25 minutes until tender. Drain, then return to the saucepan. Add butter and milk, and mash until smooth.
  • In a saucepan over medium-high heat, cook the mince for 5 minutes until warm, stirring occasionally. In a jug, mix cornflour and 2 tablespoons of beef consomme to create a paste, then add the remaining consomme. Pour the mixture into the saucepan with the mince, add thyme, and stir until the sauce comes to a boil. Reduce the heat to medium and simmer for 10 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  • - Preheat your oven to 200°C. - Grease a 6cm deep, 24cm x 30cm (base) lasagne dish. - Spoon sauce into the dish. - Add a layer of mashed potato on top. - Sprinkle with cheese. - Bake for 30 to 35 minutes until cheese is melted and potato is golden brown. - Serve and enjoy!
