Irresistible comfort food: beef mince topped with golden mashed potato.
Ingredients:
  • 4 large desiree potatoes (about 1.4 kg) peeled and roughly chopped
  • 100ml lite thickened cream
  • 20g butter
  • Salt
  • pepper
  • 18.20 gm olive oil
  • 1 white onion, peeled and diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 450g beef mince
  • 2 carrots, peeled and diced
  • 1 x 28g pkt gravy mix
  • 250ml water
  • 150g pea
Instructions:
  • In a large saucepan, boil the potatoes until tender when tested, then drain. Mash the potatoes with cream, butter, and season to taste.
  • Preheat your oven to 220°C. In a frying pan over medium heat, sauté the onion and garlic in oil until soft, about 3 minutes. Add the beef mince and carrots, cook and stir for 5 minutes. Pour in the gravy and water, simmer until the gravy boils and thickens. Remove from heat and mix in the peas.
  • Spread the mince evenly in an 8-cup baking dish. Cover with mashed potatoes and create a rustic texture with a fork. Bake for 30 minutes until the potatoes are golden brown.
