Irresistible comfort food: beef mince topped with golden mashed potato.
Ingredients:
4 large desiree potatoes (about 1.4 kg) peeled and roughly chopped
100ml lite thickened cream
20g butter
Salt
pepper
18.20 gm olive oil
1white onion, peeled and diced
2clovesgarlic, crushed
450g beef mince
2carrots, peeled and diced
1 x 28g pkt gravy mix
250ml water
150g pea
Instructions:
In a large saucepan, boil the potatoes until tender when tested, then drain. Mash the potatoes with cream, butter, and season to taste.
Preheat your oven to 220°C. In a frying pan over medium heat, sauté the onion and garlic in oil until soft, about 3 minutes. Add the beef mince and carrots, cook and stir for 5 minutes. Pour in the gravy and water, simmer until the gravy boils and thickens. Remove from heat and mix in the peas.
Spread the mince evenly in an 8-cup baking dish. Cover with mashed potatoes and create a rustic texture with a fork. Bake for 30 minutes until the potatoes are golden brown.
