Indulgent crème anglaise elevates any dessert with its silky decadence. Perfect for drizzling over fresh fruit or pound cake.
Ingredients:
  • 2 large egg yolks
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 0.33333334326744 cup white sugar
  • 1 tablespoon brandy-based orange liqueur (such as Grand Marnier®)
  • 0.25 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions:
  • Combine egg yolks, cream, sugar, brandy-based orange liqueur, and vanilla extract in a small saucepan and whisk until velvety smooth.
  • Heat saucepan over gentle heat, stir continuously with a rubber spatula, scraping the bottom, until mixture is warm and slightly thickened, and thermometer reads 180°F (82°C), about 8-10 minutes.
  • Remove the pot from the heat, strain to remove any over-cooked egg particles, and let it cool.
