Cranberry Sangría

Festive Spanish wine punch with cranberries, ideal for holiday gatherings.
Ingredients:
  • 2 cups fresh or frozen cranberries
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 cans (8.4 oz each) sparkling cranberry juice
  • 1 bottle (750 ml) white Zinfandel wine
  • 1 cup fresh orange juice (1 1/2 large oranges)
  • 1 orange, thinly sliced
  • 1 lemon, thinly sliced
  • 1 lime, thinly sliced
  • 1 green apple, thinly sliced into rounds
  • Ice cubes
Instructions:
  • 1. Heat cranberries, sugar, and water in a 2-quart saucepan over medium-high heat until boiling. Simmer uncovered for 5 minutes or until cranberries start to pop. Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh strainer into a large heatproof pitcher, discarding cranberry skins.
  • Combine cranberry juice, wine, orange juice, orange, lemon, lime, and apple slices in a pitcher. Mix thoroughly and chill for 2 hours. Serve over ice.
