Tangy cranberry sauce infused with warm spices and citrus flavors is a crowd-pleaser year-round.
Ingredients:
  • 0.75 cup water
  • 0.75 cup brown sugar
  • 0.25 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1 teaspoon grated orange zest
  • 0.125 teaspoon salt
  • 0.125 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 0.125 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 1 (12 ounce) bag fresh cranberries
Instructions:
  • In a medium saucepan, bring water, brown sugar, orange juice, cinnamon stick, ginger, orange zest, salt, cloves, and allspice to a boil. Simmer gently until sugar dissolves, about 3 to 5 minutes.
  • Add cranberries to the pot and bring back to a gentle boil over medium heat. Simmer until cranberries begin to burst and the sauce thickens slightly, which should take about 8 to 10 minutes. The sauce will thicken more as it cools.
  • Pour the cranberry sauce into a bowl and delicately remove the cinnamon stick, then refrigerate until ready to serve.
