Wholesome cranberry-orange oat cookies - a deliciously satisfying dessert.
Ingredients:
  • 1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 1/4 cups Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups old-fashioned or quick-cooking oats
  • 1 cup sweetened dried cranberries
  • 1 cup chopped orange slice candies
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 to 3 teaspoons orange juice
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F. In a large bowl, use an electric mixer on medium speed to beat together brown sugar and butter until light and fluffy. Add vanilla and eggs, mixing until well blended. Gradually add flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt on low speed until well combined. Fold in oats, cranberries, and chopped candies.
  • Place rounded teaspoonfuls of dough 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets.
  • Bake until golden brown, for 9 to 11 minutes. Let cool for 1 minute, then transfer from cookie sheets to cooling racks. Cool completely for about 15 minutes.
  • Combine glaze ingredients in a small bowl, gradually adding orange juice until the glaze reaches a smooth, drizzling consistency. Drizzle the glaze over the cookies.
