Moist orange oatmeal cookies with tangy cranberries, made zesty with applesauce.
Ingredients:
  • 0.5 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 0.33300000429153 cup applesauce
  • 2 tablespoons orange juice
  • 1 teaspoon grated orange zest
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 dash ground nutmeg
  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 1 cup fresh cranberries, roughly chopped
Instructions:
  • First, preheat your oven to a toasty 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Then, generously grease your cookie sheets.
  • Cream together smooth butter, white sugar, and brown sugar in a large bowl. Add applesauce, eggs, orange juice, and orange zest one at a time, mixing well. Gradually stir in flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Fold in oats and cranberries. Drop spoonfuls onto cookie sheets.
  • Bake the cookies in the preheated oven for 8 to 10 minutes. Let them cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
