Homemade cream of chicken soup - a delicious savior for any casserole!
Ingredients:
  • 1.5 cups chicken stock, divided
  • 1 teaspoon finely chopped onion
  • 1 clove garlic, finely chopped
  • 0.5 cup milk
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.25 teaspoon chopped fresh parsley
  • 0.125 teaspoon lemon pepper seasoning
  • 1 pinch ground allspice
  • 1 pinch ground paprika
Instructions:
  • In a saucepan over medium-low heat, gently sauté onion and garlic in 1 tablespoon of chicken stock until softened, about 3 minutes. Add the remaining broth, 1/2 cup of milk, and all seasonings. Bring to a boil, then simmer for 1 to 2 minutes.
  • Whisk the flour into the remaining milk until smooth. Gradually whisk the mixture into the hot stock, stirring continuously until the soup thickens and almost comes to a boil.
