Creamy chicken and almond stew with peas, ideal for topping biscuits.
Ingredients:
  • 0.33300000429153 cup butter
  • 0.33300000429153 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 0.25 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 3 cups cooked, chopped chicken breast meat
  • 2 cups frozen green peas, thawed and drained
  • 1 cup toasted sliced almonds
Instructions:
  • In a large saucepan over medium heat, melt butter until bubbling. Add flour and stir to form a smooth paste. Slowly whisk in broth, cream, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture is thick and creamy.
  • Combine the chicken, peas, and almonds, stir gently until heated through, and serve.
