Savory waffles perfect for serving with creamed beef or chicken. Light, tasty, and heavenly aroma!
Ingredients:
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 0.5 teaspoon dried rosemary
  • 0.25 teaspoon dried tarragon
  • 1.5 cups shredded smoked Gouda cheese
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 3 eggs, separated
  • 0.66666698455811 cup light sour cream
  • 0.5 cup vegetable oil
Instructions:
  • Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, garlic salt, parsley, rosemary, and tarragon in a large bowl. Mix in shredded Gouda cheese and set aside.
  • Combine egg yolks, buttermilk, sour cream, and vegetable oil in a bowl until smooth. Mix wet ingredients into the flour until just combined. In a separate bowl, whisk egg whites until stiff peaks form, then gently fold into the waffle batter.
  • Preheat the waffle iron and coat with vegetable oil spray. Pour in the suggested batter amount per waffle based on your iron. Close the lid and cook until golden brown. Keep waffles warm in the oven as you make more. Enjoy with creamed beef or chicken.
