Creamy Coffee Filled Brownies

Add a lively coffee cream cheese layer on rich fudgie brownies with dark chocolate drizzle.
Ingredients:
  • 1 box(18 oz) Betty Crocker™ Delights Supreme Chocolate Chunk Brownie Mix
  • Water, vegetable oil and eggs as called for on brownie mix box
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 (3 oz) pkg. cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine, softened
  • 2 tablespoon coffee-flavored liqueur or coffee
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 3 tablespoons butter or margarine
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 350°F (325°F for dark or nonstick pans) and grease an 8-inch square pan.
  • Prepare brownies according to the instructions on the box using water, oil, and eggs. Spread the batter evenly into the pan. Bake for 39 to 42 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted 2 inches from the edge of the pan comes out clean. Allow to cool completely.
  • In a medium bowl, use an electric mixer to blend cream cheese, powdered sugar, 2 tablespoons of butter, and liqueur until creamy. Spread over the cooled brownies. Enjoy the decadent topping!
  • In a small microwave-safe bowl, heat chocolate chips and butter uncovered in the microwave on High for 1 to 2 minutes, stirring once, until completely melted. Spread the mixture carefully over the filling. Chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes, or until firm. Keep refrigerated until serving.
