Elevate your meal with creamy white wine onion spaghetti.
Ingredients:
  • 6 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
  • 3 white onions, halved and thinly sliced
  • 8 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon white sugar
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 1 (12 ounce) package spaghetti
  • 0.5 cup dry Chardonnay
  • 0.75 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
  • cracked black pepper to taste
Instructions:
  • In a saucepan over low heat, combine butter and olive oil until melted. Add onions, garlic, sugar, and salt to the pan. Cover and cook for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until onions are soft and translucent.
  • In a large pot, bring lightly salted water to a boil. Cook spaghetti until al dente, about 7 minutes. Drain and keep warm.
  • Pour the Chardonnay into the onion mixture and bring to a boil. Let it simmer on low heat until evaporated (2 to 3 minutes). Stir in the heavy cream and simmer until slightly thickened (about 2 minutes).
  • Transfer the spaghetti to a large serving bowl and generously pour the flavorful onion sauce all over the pasta. Sprinkle with a generous amount of freshly grated Parmesan cheese and a dash of aromatic black pepper. Give it all a good toss to ensure every strand is perfectly coated and ready to be enjoyed.
