Ingredients:
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 0.33333334326744 cup chopped green onion
  • 0.25 cup seasoned bread crumbs
  • 3 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 loaf Italian bread, cut into 1-inch slices
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 0.5 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
  • 1 (28 ounce) jar spaghetti sauce
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to a toasty 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
  • Combine ground beef, green onion, bread crumbs, and Parmesan cheese in a bowl, then shape into 1-inch meatballs and place on a baking sheet.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes until cooked through, reaching an internal temperature of at least 160°F (70°C) when checked with a thermometer.
  • Start by lining the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish with a single layer of bread slices. Mix together cream cheese, mayonnaise, Italian seasoning, and pepper in a bowl, then spread this mixture over the bread slices. Sprinkle half of the mozzarella cheese on top of the cream cheese mixture.
  • Mix spaghetti sauce, water, and garlic; stir in meatballs. Pour sauce over bread and top with mozzarella cheese.
  • Bake until the cheese is melted and bubbling, about 30 minutes in the preheated oven.
