Crispy Bacon and Sweet Onion Omelet

Fluffy omelet filled with savory sauteed onions, crispy bacon, and a blend of cheddar and American cheeses.
Ingredients:
  • 4 strips bacon
  • 1 teaspoon butter
  • 0.5 sweet onion, diced
  • 3 jumbo eggs
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 0.25 cup shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
  • 1 slice process American cheese, diced
  • 0.125 teaspoon salt
  • 0.125 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
Instructions:
  • Fry bacon in a skillet until crispy. Transfer to paper towels to drain and cool, then crumble and set aside.
  • In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter until it starts to sizzle. Saute the onions in the aromatic butter until they are soft and golden, about 10 minutes.
  • Grease a 10-inch non-stick skillet, place it on a cold burner. Combine eggs and water, pour into the skillet. Cover and cook over medium-low heat until steam appears. Uncover, add bacon, Cheddar cheese, American cheese, salt, red pepper, and onions. Swirl skillet to release omelet onto a plate, fold in half. Let cheese melt for about 2 minutes. Serve and enjoy!
