Bake flavorful Moroccan chicken wings with a spicy, smoky spice rub for a healthier twist on a classic favorite.
Ingredients:
  • 2.5 pounds chicken wings
  • 1.5 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 0.25 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1.5 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh mint
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh cilantro
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt, or more to taste
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground black pepper, or more to taste
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C) and line a baking sheet with nonstick aluminum foil.
  • In a large bowl, generously coat the chicken wings with oil by tossing them until fully covered.
  • Combine paprika, cumin, salt, cinnamon, ginger, cayenne pepper, turmeric, and black pepper in a small bowl. Season wings generously with spice mixture and ensure they are evenly coated.
  • Lay out the wings in a single layer on the baking sheet, ensuring they are evenly spaced apart.
  • Roast in the preheated oven for 40 to 45 minutes until the meat is no longer pink at the bone and the juices run clear. Use an instant-read thermometer near the bone to ensure it reaches 165°F (74°C).
  • Prepare the yogurt dip: Combine yogurt, lemon juice, honey, mint, cilantro, salt, and pepper in a small bowl. Adjust seasoning with more salt and pepper to taste.
  • Take the wings out of the oven and place them on a serving platter. Enjoy with yogurt dip.
