Make crispy baked tortilla bowls at home with less grease than fried. Fill with your favorite taco salad or burrito toppings.
Ingredients:
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 2 (8 inch) flour tortillas
  • 2 oven-safe ramekins, about 4 inches in diameter
  • Aluminum foil
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) for a perfect bake.
  • Coat both sides of the tortillas with a delicious layer of oil.
  • Place the ramekin upside down on a flat surface. Position the tortilla in the center over the bottom of the ramekin and carefully press the tortilla down around the sides.
  • Cover the tortilla with a double layer of aluminum foil and shape it into a bowl around the ramekin.
  • Lay tortillas on a baking sheet, ensuring 1/2-inch of each tortilla is exposed above the foil for a golden, crispy finish. Repeat with the second tortilla.
  • In the preheated oven, bake for 5 minutes. Use tongs to transfer the ramekins from the shells. Bake the shells for an additional 5 minutes until lightly browned.
  • Gently unwrap the foil from the shells, then lay the shells upside down on the foil. Fold the foil around the bottom of the shells to shield the top edges.
  • Bake shells until golden and crispy, about 8-10 minutes. Invert shells and bake for an additional 3-5 minutes until extra crisp. Keep an eye on them to prevent burning.
  • Place the basket burritos on a rack to cool thoroughly.
  • Savor every delicious bite!
