Elevate canned refried beans with salsa and seasonings for delicious, crispy burritos.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (16 ounce) can refried beans
  • 1 tablespoon salsa
  • 0.5 teaspoon chili powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 6 (8 inch) flour tortillas
  • 0.5 cup shredded Mexican cheese blend
  • 1.5 tablespoons vegetable oil, or as needed
Instructions:
  • Mix refried beans, salsa, chili powder, garlic powder, and cumin in a bowl until creamy.
  • Place a generous amount of the bean mixture onto the center of a tortilla, spreading it into a thin layer. Add a generous pinch of shredded cheese and roll the tortilla tightly. Repeat with the rest of the bean mixture, tortillas, and cheese.
  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, fry the burritos seam-side down until golden and crispy on all sides, turning every 30 seconds, for 5 to 8 minutes. Transfer to a plate and repeat with the rest of the burritos.
