Crispy Fried Fish

Revive the Friday night tradition with this revamped fried fish using Progresso™ panko bread crumbs for an extra-crispy crust and moist fish. Enjoy flaky, crispy perfection for a quick and delicious weekend kickoff!
Ingredients:
  • 1/3 cup Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons seasoned salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup dark beer or water
  • 1 1/2 cups Progresso™ panko crispy bread crumbs
  • Peanut or corn oil for frying
  • 1 1/2 lb fish fillets (walleye, cod, whitefish or tilapia)
Instructions:
  • Combine flour and seasoned salt in a shallow dish. Whisk eggs and beer together in a medium bowl. Place bread crumbs in a large resealable plastic bag.
  • Heat 2 inches of oil in electric skillet or deep fryer to 350°F. Coat fish fillets with flour mixture, dip in beer mixture, then shake in a bag with bread crumbs until fully coated.
  • Sear fish in batches in sizzling oil for approximately 4 minutes, flipping once, until beautifully golden. Pat dry on paper towels and serve immediately.
