Nutrient-packed Whole Grain Total™ cereal mixed with dried fruits and nuts for a delicious and iron-rich snack.
Ingredients:
  • 4 cups Total™ Raisin Bran cereal
  • 1/3 cup sliced almonds
  • 1 bag (8 oz) dried mixed fruit (1 1/2 cups), cut into 1/2-inch pieces
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 300°F. Combine cereal, almonds, and fruit in a large bowl; set aside.
  • In a small saucepan, gently warm brown sugar and butter until the butter is melted, stirring occasionally. Add cinnamon and ginger, then pour over cereal and mix well to coat. Spread the mixture in an ungreased 15 x 10 x 1-inch pan.
  • Bake the mixture for 15 minutes, stirring halfway through. Spread the mixture on waxed paper and allow it to cool for about 30 minutes. Store it in a tightly covered container at room temperature.
