Versatile dough recipe for double crust 11x7 inch dish, ideal for savory pies.
Ingredients:
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.66666668653488 cup shortening
  • 8 tablespoons ice water
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
  • Blend 2 cups of flour and salt with vegetable shortening using a pastry blender until combined. Add 6 to 8 tablespoons of ice water and stir until a ball of dough forms. Divide the dough in half.
  • Roll one ball of dough to fit the bottom and sides of an 11x7 inch baking dish using a rolling pin. Roll the other ball of dough for the top crust.
