Marinate rib eye steaks in zesty orange juice and aromatic cumin, then grill to juicy perfection.
Ingredients:
  • 0.5 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 0.25 cup orange juice
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons Montreal-style steak seasoning
  • 2.25 teaspoons lime juice
  • 1.5 teaspoons dried oregano
  • 1.5 pounds beef rib-eye steaks
Instructions:
  • Toast cumin seeds in a small skillet over medium heat until dark brown and fragrant, about 1 minute. Quickly transfer the seeds to a bowl to halt the cooking process. Combine the toasted cumin seeds with orange juice, vegetable oil, steak seasoning, lime juice, and oregano in the same bowl.
  • Place the steaks in a large resealable plastic bag, add the orange juice marinade, and remove any air before sealing the bag. Massage the bag to ensure the meat is evenly coated with the marinade. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes for optimal flavor infusion.
  • Prepare the grill by preheating it to medium-high heat and lightly oiling the grate.
  • Remove steaks from marinade, allowing excess to drip off. Grill steaks on a preheated grill until nicely seared on the outside and slightly pink inside, about 6-8 minutes per side. Use a meat thermometer to ensure the thickest steak reaches 145°F (65°C). Let steaks rest for 3 minutes before slicing.
