Cuban Pork Sandwiches

Enjoy the iconic Cuban sandwich with tender roast pork from the deli.
Ingredients:
  • 4 white hamburger buns, split
  • 2 teaspoons yellow mustard
  • 4 teaspoons mayonnaise or salad dressing
  • 4 ounces thinly sliced cooked roast pork
  • 4 ounces thinly sliced cooked ham
  • 4 ounces sliced Swiss cheese
  • 12 slices dill pickles
  • 3 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
Instructions:
  • Spread 1/2 teaspoon mustard on one side of each bun, and 1 teaspoon mayonnaise on the other side. Layer pork, ham, cheese, and 3 pickle slices on each bun, adjusting to fit if needed. Use your hand to press firmly, flattening each sandwich to about 1-inch thickness.
  • Preheat a 12-inch nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Brush the tops of the sandwiches with melted butter, then place them buttered side down in the skillet. Brush the remaining butter on the bottoms. Cook for about 6 minutes, flipping once, until both sides are golden brown and crispy.
