Dad's improved green bean recipe surpasses the original he lost, resulting in a flavorful dish worth savoring.
Ingredients:
  • 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 3 tablespoons light soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon white sugar
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
Instructions:
  • In a large saucepan or pot, add green beans and one inch of water. Use a steamer insert if available. Bring to a boil, cover, and cook for 5 minutes until beans are firm and bright green.
  • Combine soy sauce, balsamic vinegar, and sugar in a small bowl; set aside.
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, warm sesame oil. Sauté garlic until lightly browned. Add green beans and toss in the fragrant oil. Pour in the soy sauce mixture and let simmer uncovered for a couple of minutes to thicken. Serve green beans in a dish and drizzle with the flavorful sauce.
