Effortlessly make this sophisticated Danish that also freezes beautifully.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 cup water
  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 1 tablespoon milk, or as needed
  • 2 tablespoons candy sprinkles
Instructions:
  • 1 cup of flour goes into a medium bowl. Blend in butter using a fork or pastry blender. Drizzle 2 tablespoons of water on top and mix until dough forms. Divide into two balls. Shape each into a 14x3-inch strip on an ungreased baking sheet. Let sit.
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Combine a luxurious blend of butter and water in a saucepan and bring it to a vigorous boil. Infuse with a tantalizing hint of almond extract and swiftly remove from heat. Introduce the flour and stir until it elegantly pulls away from the pan. Gracefully incorporate the eggs until beautifully blended. Divide equally and elegantly spread over the two crusts on the baking sheet.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until beautifully golden for around 1 hour. Let it cool until just slightly warm before adding the frosting.
  • Prepare the frosting by combining confectioners' sugar, 1 teaspoon of almond extract, and a splash of milk in a small bowl until a smooth consistency is achieved. Adjust the milk quantity to create a pourable glaze. Pour over the Danish and top with candy sprinkles for extra flair.
