Egg decorating just got tastier and easier with this fun and delicious recipe using Betty Crocker Sugar Cookie Mix and Rich & Creamy vanilla frosting. Let your creativity shine with colorful and patterned cookie eggs!
Ingredients:
  • 1 pouch (17.5 oz) Betty Crocker™ Sugar Cookie Mix
  • Flour, butter and egg called for on cookie mix pouch for cutout cookies
  • 1 1/2 cups from 1 tub (16 oz) Betty Crocker™ Rich & Creamy Vanilla Frosting
  • Great Value™ pastel pink and yellow gel food colors
  • Pink, purple and white Great Value™ cookie icing pouches (7 oz each), as desired
  • Great Value™ pastel-colored sprinkle mix, as desired
  • Great Value™ colored sugars, as desired
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 375°F. Combine cookie mix, flour, butter, and egg in a medium bowl, stirring until a soft dough forms.
  • Roll the dough out to 1/4 inch thickness on a floured surface. Use a 3- to 3 1/4-inch egg-shaped cookie cutter to cut out shapes, then place them 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets.
  • Bake for 7 to 9 minutes until edges turn light golden brown. Let cool for 1 minute, then transfer from cookie sheets to a cooling rack. Allow to cool completely for about 20 minutes.
  • Divide frosting into 3 small bowls. Add pink food color to one bowl, yellow to another, and leave the third bowl white. Spread 1 tablespoon of frosting on top of the cookie using a small icing knife or offset metal spatula.
  • Decorate frosted cookies with cookie icing, sprinkles, and sugars following the photo guide. Allow the icing to set for about 1 hour. Store the decorated cookies in an airtight container at room temperature, separating layers with waxed paper.
