Homemade crispy calamari rings - restaurant quality made easy with pantry staples.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 6 cups vegetable oil for frying
  • 12 ounces frozen calamari rings, thawed and drained
  • 2 tablespoons cocktail sauce, or to taste
  • 1 lemon, quartered
Instructions:
  • Combine flour, 2 teaspoons of salt, paprika, and black pepper in a shallow bowl, stirring until well mixed.
  • Begin by warming up the oil in a deep-fryer or large saucepan until it reaches 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  • Coat calamari rings in flour mixture, ensuring they are evenly covered and shaking off any extra flour.
  • Fry calamari rings in hot oil until golden brown in batches, about 3 to 4 minutes each. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate, sprinkle with salt, and serve with cocktail and lemon wedges.
