Delicious stovetop grilled chicken sandwich with creamy herb spread on French bread.
Ingredients:
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 4 teaspoons dried dill weed, divided
  • 4 tablespoons minced garlic, divided
  • 2 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
  • 2 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 1 small tomato, sliced
  • 2 leaves lettuce
  • 4 thick slices French bread
Instructions:
  • Combine the cream cheese, 2 teaspoons of dill, and 2 tablespoons of garlic in a medium bowl; set aside.
  • Infuse the chicken with the aromatic flavors of garlic and dill.
  • In a skillet over medium heat, melt 1 tablespoon of butter. Cook the chicken until it's no longer pink in the center and the juices run clear, approximately 8 minutes on each side. Use an instant-read thermometer to ensure the chicken reaches an internal temperature of at least 165°F (74°C) before removing it from the pan.
  • Spread the remaining butter on one side of each slice of bread. Toast the buttered bread in the skillet until golden, approximately 2 minutes.
  • Take out the bread from the skillet. Evenly spread half of the cream cheese mixture on the untoasted sides of 2 slices of bread. Layer lettuce, tomato slices, chicken breast, and top with the remaining bread slices.
