Fluffy nougat-like candy made with sugar, corn syrup, egg whites, and vanilla - a perfect sweet treat.
Ingredients:
  • 2.6666667461395 cups white sugar
  • 0.66666668653488 cup light corn syrup
  • 0.5 cup water
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 0.66666668653488 cup chopped walnuts
Instructions:
  • Assemble all your ingredients.
  • In a 2-quart saucepan, gently warm sugar, corn syrup, and water over low heat, stirring constantly until sugar dissolves and the mixture boils. Let it cook without stirring until it reaches 250 degrees F (120 degrees C) or forms a rigid ball when dropped in cold water.
  • Whisk egg whites in a medium-sized glass, metal, or ceramic bowl until stiff peaks form.
  • Slowly drizzle the hot syrup into the beaten egg whites while continuing to mix.
  • Mix in the fragrant vanilla extract until the mixture holds its shape and loses its shine; gently incorporate the crunchy walnuts.
  • Using a greased spoon, place spoonfuls onto waxed paper. Allow the candy to sit at room temperature, flipping it over once, until the outside is firm, for at least 12 hours. Store in an airtight container.
