Indulgent double chocolate banana monkey bread - layers of spiced, caramelized deliciousness.
Ingredients:
  • cooking spray
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 (3.4 ounce) package instant white chocolate pudding mix, divided
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 (16.3 ounce) package refrigerated buttermilk biscuit dough (such as Pillsbury Grands!®), each cut into 8 pieces
  • 1 ripe banana, mashed
  • 0.5 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 2 teaspoons heavy whipping cream
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to a toasty 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and give your 9-inch cake pan a quick spray with cooking oil.
  • In a large resealable plastic bag, mix together the brown sugar, half of the pudding mix, and cinnamon. Seal the bag and shake vigorously until well combined without any lumps.
  • Combine the remaining pudding mix with 1/2 cup melted butter in a small bowl, stirring until well mixed.
  • Coat each biscuit piece in the butter mixture and toss in the sugar mixture. Layer half of the pieces on the bottom of the pan. Add sliced bananas over the biscuits, then sprinkle chocolate chips on top. Cover with the remaining biscuit pieces.
  • Bake the dish until golden brown and fully cooked in the center, usually taking 18 to 22 minutes in the preheated oven. Allow the monkey bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then flip it onto a serving plate.
  • In a bowl, whisk together confectioners' sugar, 2 tablespoons of butter, and cream until velvety. Pour the mixture generously over the monkey bread.
