Cheesy refried bean-filled tortillas envelop crunchy taco shells for a playful twist on taco night.
Ingredients:
  • 1.25 pounds ground beef
  • 0.5 onion, chopped
  • 1 (1.25 ounce) package dry taco seasoning mix
  • 0.75 cup water
  • 1 (14 ounce) can refried beans
  • 4 ounces processed cheese food, cubed
  • 10 (6 inch) flour tortillas, warmed
  • 10 crisp taco shells, warmed
Instructions:
  • In a skillet over medium heat, sauté ground beef and onion until beef is fully browned, about 7 to 10 minutes. Remove any excess grease from the skillet.
  • Once the beef is cooking, whisk the taco seasoning mix into water in a saucepan, bring it to a boil, then simmer on low heat for 10 minutes.
  • Mix the taco seasoning into the ground beef and onion, then let it simmer on medium-low heat while you get the rest of the ingredients ready.
  • Combine refried beans and cubed process cheese food in a small saucepan. Cook over medium-low heat, stirring constantly until the cheese is completely melted into the beans, about 10 minutes.
  • Spread a generous amount of refried bean mixture onto each flour tortilla, ensuring it covers the entire surface evenly.
  • "Secure the tortillas around the crunchy taco shells with the flavorful bean mixture."
  • Fill the taco shells with the seasoned ground beef using a spoon.
