Elevate Oreo™ cookies with a simple, fun twist: dip in chocolate using the microwave for a special treat.
Ingredients:
  • 1 package (10 ounces) white baking chips
  • 4 teaspoons shortening
  • 1 package (16 ounces) Oreo chocolate creme sandwich cookies
  • 1 package (10 ounces) mint-chocolate chips
Instructions:
  • Prepare a lined cookie sheet with waxed paper. Combine white chips and 2 teaspoons of shortening in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave uncovered on medium (50%) heat for 4 to 5 minutes or until the mixture can be stirred until smooth.
  • Take each of the 21 cookies and dip them one by one into the white mixture. Place them on waxed paper on a cookie sheet and refrigerate for 5 to 10 minutes until the coating is set.
  • In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the chocolate chips and remaining 2 teaspoons of shortening. Microwave on medium (50%) for 4 to 5 minutes, or until the mixture is smooth when stirred.
  • Coat the remaining cookies in the luscious chocolate mixture, then lay them on waxed paper on a cookie sheet. Chill in the refrigerator for 5 to 10 minutes until the coating is perfectly set.
  • Pour the rest of the chocolate mixture over the white-coated cookies and let it set. Then, pour the remaining white mixture over the chocolate-coated cookies and let it set as well. Reheat the mixtures if they have hardened.
