Delightful double-heart sugar cookies using Betty Crocker™ Sugar Cookie Mix, ideal for Valentine's Day!
Ingredients:
  • 1 pouch (17.5 oz) Betty Crocker™ Sugar Cookie Mix
  • Flour, butter and egg called for on cookie mix pouch for cutout cookies
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 tablespoon light corn syrup
  • Food color, if desired
  • Assorted Betty Crocker™ Decorating Decors, if desired
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 375°F. Mix Cookie ingredients in a large bowl until a dough forms.
  • 1. Split the dough in half and roll each portion on a lightly floured surface to 1/8 inch thickness. Using a 3-inch and 1 1/2-inch heart-shaped cookie cutter, make 12 cookies of each size. Arrange the cookies 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets.
  • Bake in the oven for 8 to 10 minutes, then allow to cool on the cookie sheets for 2 minutes before transferring to cooling racks. Let them cool completely for about 15 minutes before enjoying.
  • 1. In a medium bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, water, corn syrup, and almond extract until velvety and smooth. Divide the glaze into two separate bowls and mix in food coloring as desired. 2. Dip the cooled cookies into the glaze, allowing any excess to drip off, then dip them into colorful decorations. 3. Place a smaller heart-shaped cookie on top of a larger one. Allow the cookies to set at room temperature for approximately 1 hour.
