Create festive Salt Dough Ornaments with this simple 3-ingredient recipe for memorable holiday gifts.
Ingredients:
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup salt
  • 1.5 cups warm water
Instructions:
  • Get all your ingredients ready, and preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C).
  • Combine flour and salt in a mixing bowl until fully incorporated. Slowly add water, about 1/2 cup at a time, until dough comes together. Use your hands to knead the dough when it becomes too thick to stir with a spoon.
  • Move dough onto a floured surface and knead until smooth and flexible.
  • Roll out the dough until it's 1/8 inch thick, then use cookie cutters to create your desired shapes.
  • Place the dough shapes onto ungreased cookie sheets, then use a toothpick to create a hole in each ornament for hanging.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 1 hour, rotating racks halfway through, until firm.
  • After baking, allow it to cool completely and then get creative with acrylic paint and craft varnish for a beautiful finish. Once done, simply thread a string through each hole for hanging.
  • Garnish and savor!
