Quick and flavorful Korean BBQ beef ribs: marinate in sweet garlic soy sauce for 2 hours and grill to perfection.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup soy sauce
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 5 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 3 green onions, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons Asian (toasted) sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
  • 2 pounds Korean-style short ribs (beef chuck flanken, cut 1/3 to 1/2 inch thick across bones)
Instructions:
  • Combine soy sauce and sugar in a bowl, whisking until sugar dissolves. Stir in black pepper, garlic, green onions, sesame oil, and sesame seeds.
  • In a large bowl, combine the ribs with the marinade, making sure they are fully coated. Chill in the refrigerator for 2 hours, stirring once halfway through.
  • Preheat the grill to medium-high heat and lightly oil the grate.
  • Take the ribs out of the marinade and dispose of the marinade. Grill the ribs until they are nicely browned and cooked through, approximately 5 minutes on each side. Keep a spray bottle of water nearby in case the ribs flame up.
