Delicious blackberry and cream cheese stuffed puff pastry Danish, perfect for the whole family to enjoy.
Ingredients:
  • 0.5 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, at room temperature
  • 0.25 cup white sugar
  • 1 extra large egg yolk, at room temperature
  • 0.5 tablespoon grated lemon zest
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 0.5 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 8 fresh blackberries
  • 1 large egg white
  • 1 tablespoon water
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) while preparing a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Combine cream cheese and sugar until creamy, then mix in egg yolk, lemon zest, vanilla extract, and salt until well combined.
  • On a lightly floured surface, gently unroll the puff pastry. Roll it out slightly to form a 10-inch square. Cut the pastry into quarters. Spoon a generous tablespoon of cheese filling into the center of each square and top with 2 blackberries.
  • In a bowl, whisk egg white and water until combined. Brush the edges of each square with the egg wash. Fold opposite corners together at the center, pinching the ends tightly to seal. Repeat with the other corners to secure the filling inside. Repeat this process with the rest of the squares.
  • Gently glaze the pastries with additional egg wash and transfer them to the lined baking sheet. Chill in the refrigerator for 15 minutes.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for around 20 minutes until golden brown and puffed.
