Cozy chicken and stuffing casserole with tender, juicy chicken, creamy sauce, and flavorful onion soup mix.
Ingredients:
  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 (10.5 ounce) can cream of chicken soup
  • 8 ounces sour cream
  • 1 (1.4 ounce) packet dried French onion soup mix
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black Pepper
  • 1 (6 ounce) box dried stuffing mix, such as Stovetop® Savory Herb Stuffing Mix
  • 3/4 cup chicken broth
  • 5 tablespoons butter, sliced into 8 to 10 pieces
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley, or to taste
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C), then coat a casserole dish with a light layer of grease before placing the chicken in a single layer.
  • Combine soup, sour cream, and onion soup mix in a bowl, then generously spread over the chicken. Season with pepper.
  • Mix stuffing mix with flavorful chicken broth, generously coat chicken with the savory stuffing blend, and finish by scattering delicate pats of butter on top for a golden finish.
  • Bake in the oven until golden and bubbly, and chicken is fully cooked, about 50 to 60 minutes or until it reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) when tested with a thermometer.
  • Allow to sit for 10 minutes then garnish with fresh parsley. To serve, plate the chicken and stuffing separately and drizzle each portion with approximately 1/4 cup of the flavorful gravy from the casserole dish.
