Elevate your drinks with vibrant homemade grenadine - a sweet, tangy syrup of pomegranate juice, sugar, and orange flower water. Up your cocktail and mocktail game instantly.
Ingredients:
  • 2 cups pomegranate juice from 2-3 large pomegranates
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon orange flower water
  • 1 tablespoon pomegranate molasses
  • 1 ounce vodka, optional
Instructions:
  • Create a sweet and tangy syrup: In a small saucepan, blend the pomegranate juice with sugar until the sugar is dissolved. Boil the mixture over medium-high heat, then lower the heat to medium-low for a lively simmer with small bubbles around the edges.
  • Simmer pomegranate liquid until reduced by two-thirds, about 1 2/3 cups remaining. It should take 20-30 minutes, resulting in a viscous liquid resembling honey.
  • Allow the grenadine to cool at room temperature: Once the mixture has reduced, take it off the heat and let it cool naturally. Mix in the orange flower water and pomegranate molasses. If desired, add the vodka as well.
  • To preserve the grenadine, transfer it to a sealed airtight container such as a swing top bottle and refrigerate for 1 to 3 months.
