Elevate your holiday table with this unique roasted duck basted in tangy orange soda sauce.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (12 fluid ounce) can or bottle orange soda
  • 1 (6 ounce) can frozen orange juice concentrate, thawed
  • 0.5 (18 ounce) bottle honey barbecue sauce
  • 0.25 cup brown sugar
  • 0.33333334326744 cup bottled teriyaki sauce
  • 1 (5 pound) whole frozen duckling, thawed
  • 1 (4.5 ounce) can sliced mushrooms, drained
Instructions:
  • Combine orange soda, orange juice concentrate, barbecue sauce, brown sugar, and teriyaki sauce in a bowl. Stir until sugar is dissolved.
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare the duck by trimming any excess fat, then place it in a roasting pan and pierce the skin all over with a fork to help the fat drain while cooking.
  • Coat the duck with the fragrant orange mixture, then stuff the cavity with mushrooms and drizzle in the luscious orange sauce.
  • Roast the duck in the oven, basting with the fragrant orange sauce every 20-30 minutes until a meat thermometer reads 165°F (75°C) in the thickest part of a thigh, approximately 2 1/2 hours.
