Simple Rum Cake: Moist Bundt cake made with box mix, topped with walnuts and drizzled with rum sauce. Perfect for festive gatherings.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1 (15.25 ounce) package yellow cake mix
  • 4 large eggs
  • 0.5 cup dark rum
  • 0.5 cup water
  • 0.5 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 (3.5 ounce) package instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 0.5 cup butter
  • 0.5 cup white sugar
  • 0.125 cup water
  • 0.25 cup rum
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to a cozy 325 degrees F (165 degrees C), and generously grease and flour a 10-inch Bundt or tube pan.
  • Prepare the pan by sprinkling walnuts over the bottom; set aside.
  • In a large bowl, combine cake mix, eggs, dark rum, water, oil, and vanilla pudding mix until fully blended. Pour the batter over the walnuts in the pan.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 1 hour, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the cake to cool, then invert it onto a serving plate and gently prick holes into the top and sides with a toothpick or skewer.
  • Prepare the glaze by melting butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Add sugar and water to the melted butter, then bring the mixture to a boil. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the rum.
  • Spoon the warm glaze generously over the entire surface of the cake.
