Versatile sesame dressing: light, creamy & nutty. Elevate salads, coleslaw, rice, noodles, sashimi, and meat marinades.
Ingredients:
  • 3 tablespoons raw sesame seeds
  • 1 teaspoon finely grated fresh ginger (optional)
  • 1/4 cup rice vinegar
  • 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon light brown sugar, tightly packed
Instructions:
  • Toast the sesame seeds: Spread sesame seeds in a skillet over medium-low heat. Stir occasionally until golden brown and fragrant, about 10 to 12 minutes.
  • Process the toasted sesame seeds in a spice grinder, small food processor, or mortar and pestle until a fine powder forms. Alternatively, keep the seeds whole for a thinner dressing with a crunchy texture.
  • Prepare the dressing by combining ground sesame seeds, ginger, vinegar, olive oil, soy sauce, sesame oil, and brown sugar in a lidded jar. Close the lid tightly and shake vigorously for about 30 seconds until the sugar dissolves and the dressing is well mixed. For a slightly creamy texture, especially if using ground seeds, or whisk the ingredients in a small mixing bowl until the sugar is completely dissolved.
  • Adjust to Taste: Adjust the dressing by adding more sugar, vinegar, or a pinch of salt to your liking. Serve immediately or refrigerate for up to a week, remember to shake well before using. Enjoy the recipe? Drop us a rating below!
