Quick and easy spritz cookies with a buttery almond flavor and festive decorations, perfect for gifting during the holidays.
Ingredients:
  • 1 pouch (17.5 oz) Betty Crocker™ Sugar Cookie Mix
  • 1/3 cup Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon Betty Crocker™ Decorating Decors Jingle Mix nonpareils (from 2.1-oz container)
  • 38 maraschino cherries, drained well, patted dry, cut in half
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 375°F. Combine cookie mix, flour, melted butter, almond extract, and egg in a large bowl until dough forms. Mix in nonpareils.
  • Insert the 1 3/4-inch flower design disk into the cookie press. Fill the press with dough and squeeze out shapes onto ungreased cookie sheets. Gently press a halved cherry into the center of each cookie. Continue with the rest of the dough and cherries, keeping the dough covered with plastic wrap to prevent drying out when not in use.
  • Bake for 5 to 7 minutes until edges are set but not browned. Let cool for 1 minute, then transfer to a cooling rack. Allow to cool completely, approximately 30 minutes. Store in an airtight container at room temperature with waxed paper between layers.
