Simple taco casserole with seasoned beef, salsa, onions, crushed tortilla chips, and gooey cheese for a delicious Mexican-inspired meal.
Ingredients:
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup salsa
  • 0.5 cup chopped onion
  • 0.5 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 2 cups crushed tortilla chips
  • 4 ounces shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 4 ounces shredded Monterey Jack cheese
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) for a perfect bake.
  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook ground beef until crumbly and browned, about 5 to 7 minutes. Drain excess grease. Add salsa, onion, mayonnaise, chili powder, and cumin, then remove from heat.
  • Layer half of the ground beef mixture in a 2-quart casserole dish, then sprinkle with 1 cup of tortilla chips. Add half of the Cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses. Repeat layering with remaining ingredients. Cover the dish with foil before baking.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 30 minutes, or until the cheese is perfectly melted in the center.
