Eerie eyeball garnish made from radishes, olives, and grapes, perfect for a spine-chilling Halloween martini.
Ingredients:
  • 2 round radishes
  • 1 large pimiento-stuffed green olive, cut in half crosswise
  • 2 large seedless black grapes
  • 2 small cranberries or blueberries
  • 2 jumbo pitted ripe olives
  • 2 small ready-to-eat baby-cut carrots
  • 2 1/2 oz (5 tablespoons) gin or vodka
  • 1/2 oz (1 tablespoon) dry vermouth
Instructions:
  • Create radish eyeballs by peeling each radish, keeping streaks of red skin for a "blood vessel" look. Trim 1/4 inch from one tip. Use a small melon baller or paring knife to hollow out a small hole from the trimmed tip. Insert half an olive in the center and present in a martini glass.
  • Prepare grape eyeballs by delicately peeling back the skin from one edge of each grape. Use a small melon baller or paring knife to create a hole in the center of the exposed flesh. Place a small cranberry or blueberry into the hole. Thread the grape eyeballs onto a toothpick and arrange them in a martini glass.
  • For each olive eyeball, insert a baby carrot into the pitted hole of the olive and trim the carrot flush with the end of the olive. Thread the olives onto a toothpick and display them in a martini glass.
  • Place a generous amount of ice cubes in a cocktail shaker or mixing glass. Add the gin and vermouth, cover, and shake or stir for 30 seconds. Strain into a martini glass and serve.
