Christmas house inspired by Australian fairy bread, decorated with white chocolate, freckles, and colorful sprinkles.
Ingredients:
  • 2 x 290g packets white chocolate melts, melted
  • Hundreds & thousands, to sprinkle
  • 400g packet savoiardi (sponge finger biscuits)
  • 2 x hundreds & thousands biscuits
  • 3 jubes, halved
  • 6 mini M&Ms
  • 10 mini white marshmallows
  • Icing sugar, to dust
Instructions:
  • For white freckles, prepare a baking tray with a sheet of baking paper. Fill a piping bag with chocolate and snip a small piece from the tip. Pipe rounds onto the paper, each about the size of a 10 cent piece. Tap the tray on the counter to flatten. Sprinkle with hundreds & thousands immediately. Make around 43 freckles. Let them set before serving.
  • Increase the amount of chocolate in the bag as needed. Pipe squiggles onto 12 savoiardi, top-side up, then quickly sprinkle with hundreds & thousands. Allow the decorations to set. Cut both ends of 2 savoiardi at an angle to create front and back gables of the house. Decorate with chocolate squiggles and hundreds & thousands, then set aside to set.
  • Stack 3 un-iced biscuits on their sides using chocolate to form one side of the house. Repeat with 9 more biscuits to create the other side, back, and front of the house. Secure trimmed biscuits to the front and back. Use a bit of chocolate to attach the house to a board or plate.
  • Use the biscuits with squiggles for the roof, trimming to meet at the top, and secure with chocolate. Attach the chocolate freckles onto the roof using chocolate.
  • Slice a Hundreds & Thousands biscuit in half. Use chocolate to decorate the biscuits. Attach the halved biscuits to the side of the house to create windows and the whole biscuit to the front as a door. Adorn the front with jubes and mini M&Ms. Line the top of the roof with mini marshmallows. Cut a chimney from the leftover savoiardi, secure it with chocolate, and top with a white marshmallow for smoke.
  • Decorate the bottom of the roof with any leftover chocolate to create icicle drips. Sprinkle icing sugar on top and place 3 chocolate freckles as stepping stones.
