Quick and tasty falafel made with canned chickpeas, onion, bread crumbs, herbs, and spices, ready in 30 minutes for a gourmet touch at home.
Ingredients:
  • 1.5 (15 ounce) cans chickpeas, drained
  • 1.5 onions, chopped
  • 0.75 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 3 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon ground cumin
  • 1.5 teaspoons ground coriander
  • 1.5 teaspoons salt
  • 1.5 teaspoons lemon juice
  • 1.5 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 pinch ground black pepper, or to taste
  • 1 pinch cayenne pepper, or to taste
  • 1.5 cups bread crumbs
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil, or as needed
Instructions:
  • Assemble all your ingredients.
  • In a bowl, crush chickpeas using a masher. Then, blend the crushed chickpeas with onions, parsley, and garlic until creamy.
  • In a bowl, combine eggs, cumin, coriander, salt, lemon juice, baking powder, black pepper, and cayenne. Mix in the chickpea mixture. Gradually add bread crumbs and use your hands to combine until the mixture holds together for frying.
  • In a skillet over medium-high heat, fry twelve 3-inch diameter patties in hot oil until browned on each side, about 3 to 4 minutes.
