Quick and flavorful falafel made with canned pulses for a convenient twist. Enjoy with a variety of toppings to customize your dish.
Ingredients:
  • 2 x 400g tins of chickpeas
  • 1 lemon
  • 1 heaped tablespoon harissa
  • 1 heaped teaspoon allspice
  • 1 heaped tablespoon plain flour
  • 1 bunch of fresh coriander (30g)
  • olive oil
  • 4 pitta breads
  • 2 sprigs of fresh mint
Instructions:
  • - Drain the chickpeas and transfer to a food processor. - Add lemon zest, sea salt, black pepper, harissa, allspice, flour, and coriander stalks. - Blend until smooth, scraping down the sides if needed. - Shape the mixture into 16 patties with wet hands. - Heat olive oil in a non-stick frying pan. - Cook falafel patties for 6 minutes until golden and crisp, turning halfway. - Warm pittas in the oven or over a gas flame. - Fill pittas with falafels and favorite toppings. - Garnish with mint leaves before serving.
