Try this delicious Mexican-inspired bean spread appetizer topped with festive red and green toppings. Easy to make and sure to impress your guests! You can also use a 3-cup package of shredded taco cheese for convenience.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (16 ounce) can refried beans
  • 1 cup salsa
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 pint sour cream
  • 1 (1.25 ounce) package taco seasoning mix
  • 1 bunch green onions, chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, chopped
  • 2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
Instructions:
  • Combine beans, salsa, cumin, and garlic powder, then spread evenly on a large serving dish to form a thin layer, approximately 1/2 inch thick.
  • Combine sour cream with zesty taco seasoning, then evenly spread over the flavorful bean layer.
  • Add a layer of cheese followed by chopped tomatoes and green onions on top.
  • Chill in the refrigerator for an hour, then serve cold with tortilla chips.
