Grill tender beef filets topped with bacon cream sauce for a savory delight.
Ingredients:
  • 4 (4 ounce) filet mignon (beef tenderloin)
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • 3 slices bacon, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 4 shallots, diced
  • 0.25 cup half-and-half cream
  • salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
  • Heat up your grill outdoors until it reaches a medium-high temperature and lightly grease the grate with oil.
  • Coat filets in olive oil and grill to your liking (about 4 minutes per side for medium rare), until a thermometer reads 130°F (54°C) when inserted into the center. Let the steaks rest on a foil-covered platter.
  • Make the sauce while the steaks are resting. Cook chopped bacon in a small saucepan over medium heat until crispy, about 3 to 5 minutes. Add butter and shallots, and continue cooking until shallots are soft and translucent, approximately 5 minutes.
  • Combine half-and-half in the mixture and simmer over medium-low heat until slightly thickened, about 8 minutes, stirring occasionally. Season with salt and pepper to taste, then pour over steaks.
